Getting Started
-
DEEPdormir.pro accepts the following provider types:
- Sleep medicine physicians (MD/DO) with sleep medicine board certification or fellowship training
- Dentists (DDS/DMD) practicing dental sleep medicine or oral appliance therapy
- Oral and maxillofacial surgeons treating sleep-disordered breathing
- ENT (otolaryngology) physicians treating snoring and sleep apnea
- Pulmonologists with a sleep medicine focus
- Sleep study labs and diagnostic testing centers
All providers must hold an active state license and treat sleep-disordered breathing as a primary or significant part of their practice. General dentists without sleep medicine training are not eligible at this time.
-
The initial signup form takes under 5 minutes. You will need your NPI number, state license number, basic practice information, and a brief description of your services. After submission, our credentialing team verifies your credentials within 24–48 business hours and your profile goes live upon approval.
To maximize your profile's effectiveness, we recommend spending an additional 15–20 minutes completing your full profile — adding a professional photo, listing all insurance plans you accept, connecting your booking link, and writing a detailed practice description. Profiles that are 100% complete receive 4.2× more patient inquiries.

General directories like Zocdoc serve every medical specialty, meaning your profile competes with thousands of unrelated providers and attracts patients who may not have a sleep disorder. DEEPdormir.pro is 100% focused on sleep-disordered breathing — every patient on our platform specifically searched for a sleep specialist or oral appliance therapy provider.
Key differences include:
- Sleep-only patient traffic — no noise from general health browsing
- OAT-specific insurance filtering — unique to our platform
- Real credential verification — not just self-reported specialties
- Verified reviews only — from patients who booked through us
- No per-booking fees — flat monthly subscription only
-
The OAT Medical Billing Guide is publicly available to all visitors. The remaining Growth Center resources — including the Profile Optimization Checklist, Patient Conversion Guide, Prior Authorization Workflow, Communication Templates, and Analytics Benchmarks — require an active listing on any plan, including the free Starter plan.

Verification
-
After you submit your profile, our credentialing team performs the following checks:
- NPI number verification via the CMS NPPES registry
- Active state license confirmation via state medical or dental board databases
- Board certification check (ABDSM, ABSM, or equivalent) where applicable
- Practice address and contact information validation
Verification typically takes 24–48 business hours. Once approved, the DEEPdormir Verified badge appears on your profile automatically. You will be notified by email when your profile goes live.
-
New NPIs can take up to 10 business days to appear in the NPPES public registry after issuance. If your NPI is not yet searchable, our team will place your verification in a pending queue and re-check once the registry updates. You will be notified when your verification is complete. If you believe there is an error in the NPPES registry for your existing NPI, contact NPPES directly at 1-800-465-3203.
-
No. Board certification (ABDSM, ABSM, etc.) is not required to earn the DEEPdormir Verified badge. The badge is awarded upon verification of your active NPI and state license. However, board certifications are displayed prominently on your profile and significantly improve patient trust and conversion rates. We strongly encourage listing all relevant certifications when applying.
Billing & OAT Coding
-
The primary HCPCS codes for oral appliance therapy are:
- E0486 — Oral device/appliance used to reduce upper airway collapsibility, adjustable or non-adjustable, custom fabricated, includes fitting and adjustment. This is the primary code for custom-made devices.
- E0485 — Same description but for prefabricated (non-custom) oral appliances.
Supporting ICD-10 diagnosis codes include:
- G47.33 — Obstructive sleep apnea, adult
- G47.30 — Sleep apnea, unspecified
- G47.31 — Primary central sleep apnea
For complete billing guidance including Medicare Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), prior authorization workflows, and common denial appeal language, see the full OAT Medical Billing Guide.
-
Yes. Medicare covers oral appliance therapy for obstructive sleep apnea under HCPCS code E0486 as Durable Medical Equipment (DME) under Medicare Part B. Coverage requires:
- A written prescription from the treating physician
- A diagnostic polysomnography (sleep study) confirming OSA with AHI ≥ 5
- Documentation that CPAP was tried and failed, or was contraindicated or not tolerated
- The oral appliance must be custom-fabricated (E0486, not E0485)
Note: Billing is typically done through a DME supplier or the treating dentist as a DME supplier, depending on your state and setup. See the full OAT billing guide for detailed LCD requirements by region.
-
Yes — and this is one of the most significant revenue opportunities in dental sleep medicine. Many major medical insurers (Aetna, Blue Cross, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, and Medicare) cover OAT when billed with HCPCS code E0486 and the appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes. Dental insurance typically does not cover OAT as it is billed as a medical device, not a dental procedure.
To bill medical insurance as a dental provider, you typically need a medical NPI (which is the same as your dental NPI in most cases), enrollment with the payer as a DME supplier or medical provider, and proper documentation including the sleep study results and physician prescription. Some dentists partner with a DME billing company to handle the medical billing workflow.
-
Required documentation varies by payer, but most commercial insurers and Medicare require:
- Diagnostic sleep study results (PSG or HST) with AHI score
- Written prescription or order from a licensed physician or sleep specialist
- Documentation of CPAP trial failure, intolerance, or contraindication (for moderate-severe OSA cases)
- Clinical notes supporting the diagnosis
- The HCPCS code and description of the device to be provided
For a complete payer-specific prior authorization checklist, see the OAT Medical Billing Guide included in your provider resources.

Yes. All DEEPdormir.pro provider profiles are fully indexed by Google and include structured data markup (Schema.org MedicalOrganization and Physician types) that helps search engines understand your specialty, location, services, and certifications. Many providers see their DEEPdormir.pro profile appear in Google search results for queries like "[specialty] near [city]" within 30–60 days of going live.
